1. Open the document
Click or the Button for the document you wish to download. It will open in your web browser (such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge).
2. Wait for the PDF to load
The PDF will appear in your browser window. You may see it previewed on the screen, or it may open in Google Drive’s viewer.
3. Look for the download icon
Depending on how the file opens, the download button may appear in one of these places:
Google Drive viewer: A downward‑pointing arrow in the top‑right corner.
Browser PDF viewer: A small toolbar near the top or bottom of the screen with a download arrow.
4. Click or tap Download
Your browser will begin saving the PDF to your device.
5. Choose where to save (if prompted)
Some devices ask where you want to store the file. Select a folder such as:
Downloads
Documents
Desktop
Or a folder you create
On phones and tablets, the file usually goes straight to your Downloads folder or Files app.
6. Open the PDF
Once downloaded, you can open the file from:
Your browser’s Downloads list
Your computer’s Downloads folder
The Files app on your phone or tablet
