Our Stewardship Season is upon us…

…as we announce the upcoming start of our Annual Fall Campaign on Sunday, October 5th. We are excited about this year’s theme, which speaks to the faithful stewardship reflected in our joyful response to God’s blessings.

As our campaign launches, we are very grateful for your continued generosity! Your gifts of serving, connecting, and giving empower the Ministries of St. Michael and make our church’s Mission a reality.

In the coming weeks, we hope the messages of faithful stewardship will serve as a source of inspiration for you and your family. And we invite you to prayerfully consider your 2026 commitments to St. Michael.

In thanksgiving for God's blessings and for being filled with His joy in serving, connecting and giving, I/We joyfully make this financial commitment to support the Mission and Ministries of St. Michael Lutheran Church this coming year.

Week 1

This Sunday, October 5th, marks the formal start of our annual Stewardship Campaign. The above words of the Apostle Paul serve to remind us of God’s joy, hope and peace that fills us when we joyfully respond with our serving, connecting & giving, thus bringing overflowing hope to our faith community by the power of the Holy Spirit.

May the upcoming messages of joyful stewardship be a source of inspiration for you and your family, as together, we prayerfully contemplate and act on our 2026 commitments to St. Michael.

Serving

“Help us to Cheerfully Hear Your Call”

Dear Members and Friends of St. Michael,

Serving is a central and defining purpose of the Christian life, driven by gratitude for God’s grace and blessings. It brings people closer to God and each other. Every act of service manifests grace and love.

We want to take the time to thank Randy Stone for his inspirational words of stewardship this past Sunday in highlighting the start our formal Stewardship campaign. As he said it "takes a village" to be able to do such good work and we give thanks to all that provide their time and talents to St. Michael.

Randy highlighted 2nd Corinthians 9:7 - "So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." - and helped us to see a secret to true happiness and sense of belonging can come from Serving with your time, talents and treasures.

Please join us in prayerful consideration of your 2026 commitments to St. Michael:

Heavenly Father, we acknowledge You as the source of all we have and all we are. Help us to cheerfully hear Your Call to be good stewards, caretakers, and managers of all Your gifts by sharing them for Your purposes. Help us to prayerfully plan to “give back” the time, talents, and financial treasure with which we have been blessed. And help us put our “faith into action” by joyfully serving one another, connecting with our faith community, and giving in support of your work within St. Michael and our neighboring community. We pray all this with grateful hearts in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Week 2

As our Stewardship Campaign enters its second week this Sunday October 12, we have an opportunity to reflect on the deep and abiding joy that comes from living generously. When we serve others, we find purpose in our Christian lives. When we connect with our faith community, we are strengthened. And when we give our time, talents and financial treasure, it reflects our joyful response to God’s abundant blessings.

May the upcoming messages of joyful stewardship be a source of inspiration for you and your family, as together, we prayerfully contemplate and act on our 2026 commitments to St. Michael.

Connecting

“Fill us with Your Holy Spirit”

Dear Members and Friends of St. Michael,

Connecting is an essential outcome of serving through which we form life-enhancing relationships that foster a spirit of kindness and compassion.

We are very grateful to both Rick Wetzel and Steve Lacombe for sharing their unique insights on Stewardship this past Sunday, the 2nd week of our campaign. Prior to introducing Steve, Rick highlighted the importance of pledging, and the joy he has received from being a part of the Choir, Men’s Bible Study Group and serving on the Finance Committee.

Introduced as one of the most “connected” persons at St. Michael, Steve gave a very inspiring and animated talk centered on the “Connecting” portion of our appeal theme. He mentioned there are over twenty (20) different small groups (e.g. fellowship, faith formation, & committees) where members can form meaningful connections that lead to blessings and joy in their lives and in the lives of those encountered. Steve concluded with a bible verse- Proverbs 27:17: “Iron sharpens iron”, which speaks to one of the key benefits of connecting with others in our faith journey.

Oh God, help us to embrace a life of faithful stewardship, recognizing that our time, talents, and resources are all gifts from you. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, so we may use these gifts wisely and generously for your purposes. May we find true joy not in what we possess, but in the generous sharing of Your blessings reflected in serving one another, connecting with our faith community, and giving in support of Your work within St. Michael and beyond.

We pray all this with grateful hearts in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Week 3

As our annual Fall Campaign enters its 3rd and final week this Sunday October 19th, let us take a few moments to reflect on the profound joy that can enter our hearts when we live a life of faithful stewardship. When we serve faithfully, our acts of service exemplify grace and love. When we connect faithfully, we build up one another and foster a shared spirit of kindness and compassion. When we give our time, talents and financial treasure faithfully, we not only empower the ministries of St. Michael, but come to realize we are more blessed to give rather than receive.

We hope the messages of joyful stewardship will be a source of inspiration for you and your family, as together, we prayerfully contemplate and act on our 2026 commitments to St. Michael.

Giving

“Grant us the Spirit of Christian Stewardship”

Dear Members and Friends of St. Michael,

Giving is a joyful and generous response to God’s abundant gifts. It encompasses not only our financial offerings, but also the sharing of one’s time and talents, all of which empower our ministries.

We are grateful for the inspirational messages of stewardship this past Sunday, October 19th, from Lou Minella and Charlene Stone, both of whom are long term members of St. Michael. Prior to introducing Charlene, Lou began with a sincere thank you for the generosity evident within our congregation. Lou then highlighted that Joy emanates when one serves, connects, and gives in response to God's abundant blessings. He cited Psalm 16:11 "You make known to me the path of life; You fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand".

Introduced as "one who models Serving, Connecting and Giving always" Charlene gave a heartfelt, inspirational talk, which not only related her Lutheran heritage, but pointed out what the concept of stewardship means to her today..."Stewardship is caring for all things God has given us, and He has given us everything". Charlene also humbly touched on several of the "behind the scenes" areas where she gives (along with others at St. Michael) back the blessings of time, talents and treasure in order to spread God's love within our congregation and surrounding community. In closing, she posed this question to all for prayerful reflection: "How do you see yourself best caring for God's blessings and where possible giving more of yourself, thereby nurturing your relationship with God and our church”.

Please join us in prayerful consideration of your 2026 commitments to St. Michael:

O God, we offer our praise and thanksgiving to You, maker of all things. Through Your goodness You have blessed us with these gifts: ourselves, our time, and our possessions. Use us, and what we have gathered, in joyfully sharing these blessings with others in our midst.

We pray all this in Your Son’s name, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

Week 4

As our Fall Stewardship Campaign is drawing to a close, we extend our sincerest gratitude to you…the Members and Friends of St. Michael. Your thoughtful attention, ongoing generosity, and positive response to this appeal’s messaging are deeply appreciated. We are truly blessed by your commitment to the life and mission of our church through your serving, connecting and giving.
